Jennifer Love Hewitt, Macaulay Culkin, Liev Schreiber, Denise
Rich and Amber Brkich from "Survivor II" rocked New York's Central Park
Boathouse on Monday night to raise more than $260,000 for the AIDS charity
amfAR, reports PEOPLE. "A very good friend of mine, who was a mentor in
my life, passed away from AIDS," said Hewitt. "So anytime I can do something
to feel near him for the night is great." Schreiber told PEOPLE, "I am
here because they asked me, and I was honored to be asked. It is an extremely
effective charity." Among the party activities was a silent auction in
which kisses were sold -- actually, lip-prints on paper. Christina Aguilera's
lips brought in the most, $500. Other kisses came from Jennifer Aniston,
Hilary Swank, Sharon Stone, Elton John, Rosie O'Donnell, Goldie Hawn, Calista
Flockhart and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. From Brkich's lips came word that she
is moving to L.A. to pursue a movie career. "AmfAR is a great charity,"
she said of the event at hand. "For me to go to any beneficial thing right
now, why wouldn't I do it? I get to meet huge stars . . . I just met Jennifer
Love and she was super nice."
